Itinerary Details for 5 days Poon Hill trek

Day 01: One Hour Drive to Nayapul, trek to Ulleri (1960 meters). Walk 5-6 hours.

Your Poon Hill trek 5 days starts from Pokhara. From Pokhara, you will start your journey driving on car or van for an hour to Nayapul. Nayapul is the actual trailhead from where you hike to Ulleri which is at 1960 meters height from sea level.

You can see many local villages, a lot of tea houses, outstanding green hills, superb cascading rivers and different local people from the traditional village. You will walk approximately 4-5 hours from Nayapul to Ulleri and then you will spend overnight at the hospitable teahouse there.

Day 02: Ulleri to Ghorepani (2835 meters). Walk 6-7 hours.

The next day, you start commencing towards Ghorepani village from Ulleri. You will enjoy the outstanding natural view of the jungle during your walk from Ulleri to Ghorepani.

From Ulleri, you will feel some mind-blowing vegetations and pretty cold weather. In this scenario, you may get some superb opportunity to see the wild birds and animals. After reaching Ghorepani from Ulleri you can spend your overnight time in the cozy beds at the teahouse.

Day 03: Early Morning Hike to Poon Hill (3210 meters), Trek to Tadapani (2520 meters). Walk 5 hours.

On this 3rd day, you have to go for a hike to Poon Hill which is 3210 mt from the sea level. So, you will wake up before the dawn and proceed around 45 minutes uphill climb to the Poon Hill viewpoint.

The place offers a spectacular panoramic view of Annapurna ranges, Dhaulagiri ranges, Nilgiri Himal, Mardi Himal, and other stunning peaks. And the stunning glimpse of sunrise from behind these peaks is the most alluring scene not to miss on this trek.

After these views, you will hike down to the teahouse at Ghorepani village and enjoy your breakfast. Then you leave for Tadapani village for the overnight stay.

Day 04: Tadapani to Ghandruk (1940 meters). Walk 3-4 Hours.

On the walking through the forest of oak and rhododendron and sweet flowers, you will leave Tadapani village the next morning and reach Ghandruk village. Homestay in Ghandruk is also available and it is will be more pleasure time to spend time in the homestay of Ghandruk. You will be welcomed by the local people with typical cultures and they will entertain you with traditional dance in the evening. You can either stay in the teahouse or choose to stay in a teahouse there.

Day 05: Ghandruk to Nayapul and Drive to Pokhara. Walk 4-5 hours.

On the 5th day, you will trek from Ghandruk to Nayapul and you can drive to Pokhara. It will definitely be a good time on descending down through the beautiful views of Annapurna South, Fishtail and Gangapurna Mountain. You can see the superb view while following the downhill trail through the Modi Khola till Nayapul. For this day’s hike, you will walk approximately 4-5 hours.

The General Packing Lists for Poon Hill Trek 5 Days

As mentioned above, Poon Hill trek is an easy trek but you should get ready for quite serious walking up to 6 hours per day. In this trekking, you don't need to keep complicated trekking gears like some of the expensive shoes, sticks and a dozen clothes too.
