Later, you cross the high passes towards the Oktang viewpoint near the South Base Camp. The landscapes change every few days, keeping the journey feeling more alive and engaging.

Why Choose the Kanchenjunga Circuit Trek in 2026?

Each day is known to give you new landscapes that are more fabulous to see, from deep river valleys to high alpine ridges.

One of the main reason, what really makes this route special is the remote area that provides a sense of space and silence. We see small villages, traditions that are strongly influenced by the Tibetan style, and a genuine connection to nature. So, they are much more familiar with the trails, local villages, weather conditions, and challenges that can be due to altitude. The guides are also responsible for managing accommodation, permits, and safety transportation from the start to the end of your journey.

Another permit is the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area Permit (KCAP). This is mainly issued to manage tourism, protect local culture, and support the conservation work that is inside the region. Guides for Trekking to Kanchenjunga Circuit

Internet and Mobile Network

Mobile network coverage is available in some lower villages, but the signal becomes weak or unavailable in higher sections of the trek. Wi-Fi is limited and may not work consistently, so it's best to inform family and friends beforehand that communication can be irregular during the journey.

Charging Facilities

Most teahouses offer charging facilities for phones, cameras, and power banks, usually for an extra cost. Charging becomes more limited as you move to higher elevations, so carrying a fully charged power bank is highly recommended during the Kanchenjunga Circuit Trek.

Hot Showers

Hot showers are available in some lower villages at lower elevations, usually for an additional charge. In higher areas, facilities become more basic, and hot water may be limited depending on weather and accommodation conditions.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is strongly recommended for the Kanchenjunga Circuit Trek because of the remote region. This is mainly essential during times of emergencies or medical treatment. But before that, you must ensure yourself with insurance that covers high-altitude trekking, trip cancellations, medical coverage, and helicopter evacuation. But before that, it is equally important to check what your policy actually covers before insuring.
