Lo Manthang (Tibetan Kingdom)

The most notable area in Mustang, Lo Manthang has an extensive history from the 14th century through the establishment of the capital of Mustang Kingdom. Flight and Driving Route Details

starting and ending point of the trek is Jomsom, which can be reached via different transportation processes. You can take a drive from Pokhara to Jomsom taking about 6 to 7 hours depending on the route conditions. However, driving from Kathmandu to Pokhara is preferable as the road condition is smooth with getting a chance to see the natural landscapes and mountains. Same way flight from Pokhara to Jomsom is a panoramic flight that offers you views of mountain ranges.

Kathmandu to Pokhara Drive

The distance from Kathmandu to Pokhara is 203 kilometers taking about 6 to 7 hours depending on the road conditions. Driving during the early morning the road is mostly empty with less traffic providing you stunning views of hills and valleys. Sometimes, the road is usually blocked due to landslides.

Kathmandu to Pokhara Flight

Taking a flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara usually takes 20 to 25 minutes depending on the weather conditions. The flight to Pokhara is mostly considered one of the scenic adventure flights where you get to see breathtaking views of hills and mountains from the top.

Your arrival will be in the capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu where one representative from High Camp Adventure will be waiting for you. After your immigration formalities, you will be dropped off at your allocated hotel in Kathmandu. Freshen up and take a walk to nearby areas buying stuff you need for the trek.

Pickup and Drop facility to and from the Airport

The team of High Camp Adventure facilitates the clients with the pickup and drop from and to Tribhuvan International Airport as a non-charge service to ensure a safe and comfortable journey from the start. One representative from High Camp Adventure will be waiting at the Airport Guiding you with the hotel check-in formalities and assisting you towards your designated hotel in Kathmandu.

Accommodations and Meals Offered during the Upper Mustang trek

During the journey, a basic facility tea house as an accommodation will be provided to you. These tea houses are selected based on the trekker's reviews, comfort, and hygiene. However, on arrival at Kathmandu and Pokhara, you will be provided with a 3-star hotel option. The tea houses offer you a basic facility room and shared washroom. Making your trek during the peak seasons, you may be offered a shared room unless you are a lady trekker. Reaching at the higher altitude, during the night the temperature is very cold so make sure to carry a sleeping bag with you for a comfortable sleep. However, the tea houses provide you with a blanket.

Throughout the trekking journey, you will be provided with Three meals per day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) which are more delicious as it is made from local ingredients. You also have the option to order foods based on your needs and preferences at lower elevations. Don’t forget to try the local Tibetan and Nepali cuisines like Momo, Thukpa, Dal Bhat, Dhedo, Chowmein, and many other items. In Kathmandu, you will only be provided with a breakfast option whereas, the major meals should be arranged by yourself.

Restricted Area Permit: The restricted area permit helps you for a safe and secure trekking experience in the Upper Mustang. Best Time Reach The Upper Mustang

As per other trekking destinations in Nepal, the Upper Mustang trek also has its best time and peak seasons to reach.
