Upon arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, you’ll go through your visa and immigration process. After landing at Tenzing-Hillary Airport you will begin your short trek to Pkakding. Yes, communication is available during the trek. Most of the tea houses provide you with internet but at higher altitudes, you need to pay an extra cost for it. NTC and Ncell sim cards also provide you with a network that helps you during the trek. However, don’t expect it to be fast because the higher you trek the slower the network gets.

ATMs are not available along your trekking routes because of the remote locations. However, some of the tea houses do accept credit cards but it’s better to pay through cash. You can withdraw or exchange cash in Kathmandu before starting your journey which makes your trekking journey more enjoyable.

Yes, you can charge your electronic devices during the trek. Most of the Tea houses provide you with electricity or solar power but may cost you to charge your device depending on the accommodations you’re staying in. However, it is better to carry a power bank with you to charge your device.

During the trek average walking distance is around 5 to 8 hours depending on the weather conditions and trekking route. We cover a total distance of 9-13 kilometers (6 to 8 miles) per day.

Having previous trekking experience is not necessary for the Gokyo Lake trek. However, it can be beneficial if you have because it can help to acclimatize quickly. Beginner trekkers mainly should focus on their physical fitness and hiring a guide can make your journey more comfortable and safe during a trek. So, beginner trekkers without any experience can trek with proper preparations and precautions throughout the trek.

basic medical facilities are provided to you during the trek in case of an emergency in higher elevations. The team will provide you with first aid kid and in the worst conditions discuss your health condition with your guide. In case of an emergency, you will be evacuated via helicopter to Kathmandu. So, it is recommended to get your travel insurance done that covers all medical emergencies.
