About Tamang Heritage Langtang Valley Trek
Tamang Heritage Langtang Valley Trekking is an adventurous trekking combination combines both the culturally rich Tamang Heritage Trail with the breathtakingLangtang Valley. Along the way, the routes visit traditional villages, thick jungles, serene forests, hot springs, alpine highlands and soaring peaks among many other highlights! The journey passes through areas with both Buddhist and Hindu influences and connects one of the most newly developed trekking regions with one of the classic routes.
The Tamang Heritage Trail is a recently developed destination through a beautiful area with traditional culture and spectacular scenery. The area gets away from the beaten path and has fewer tourist visits than the more popular areas. Getting away from the main routes allows visitors to get closer to the people and natural surroundings.
The Tamang Heritage Trail visits many picturesque villages surrounded by fertile farmland. The people in this area are mainly of the Tamang ethnicity.Tamang follows a customary way of life that follows both Hindu and Buddhist practices. The area adjoins the renowned Langtang Region the third most popular trekking area of Nepal. Despite being just to the west of a major trekking region, the off-path trail maintains a more traditional lifestyle and the welcoming people will receive you warmly. Along the way, enjoy thrilling mountain views and relaxing hot springs where we take a pleasant bath and soak in the natural hot waters.
After visiting many charming Tamang villages we then connect with the Langtang Valley Trek to the east. The Langtang National Park has long been in the top three trekking destinations of Nepal after Annapurna and Everest. It is a favorite region for very good reasons! The trekking journey follows along a serene river valley up to a plateau surrounded by peaks soaring into the sky. This upper valley was formed by glaciers long ago and is a sacred ‘hidden valley’ according to the local Buddhist culture. As such it is regarded as free from the problems of the world and it really does seem that way!
Along the way, you can view the breathtaking Himalayan splendor of remote forests and alpine meadows. The hike up the Langtang valley is more moderate than other popular trekking regions and the rewards can be just as superb. The route passes through forests with rhododendron (Nepal’s national flower), as well as bamboo, birch, pine and eventually juniper. The trail passes by scenic waterfalls and local wildlife includes the Red Panda.
Our ultimate destination is a settlement known as Kyangin Gompa, with a famous monastery of the same name. Because of the monastery and location, this area becomes very active during important Buddhist festivals.Kyangin Gomba is also famous for a cheese factory and we will take the opportunity of a tour and sampling the locally made products. There is much to explore in these highland meadows with thrilling viewpoints that offer unforgettable panoramas.
We then follow a route back down the tranquil valley to Syabrubesi and make a scenic drive back to Kathmandu or we continue to holy Gosainkunda Lake and Helambu.
Please Note: Our Tamang Heritage Trail and Langtang Trek has set departure dates from Kathmandu and this trek can be personalized to accommodate your specific wishes and timetable. We can arrange a combination of this Tamang Heritage Trail trek with Gosainkunda Lake and the Helambu Trek as well as the Ganesh Himal Region for people with the time and interest as well as other inviting options in the area.
