About Naya Kanga Peak Climbing
The Himalaya of Nepal is the world’s most exciting destination for climbing. 414 peaks are open to mountain climbing in Nepal and summiting a Himalayan peak can be an adventurous challenge and exhilarating experience of a lifetime.
Naya Kanga Peak is (5,844 mt /19,173 ft) rises to the west of the famous Ganja La Pass and is formally known as Ganja La Chuli. It towers above one of the favorite regions of the Himalaya, the Langtang Valley. The route reaches into Upper Langtang, an isolated glacial valley that has long been one of the top three trekking destinations of all Nepal.
Along the way to Kyangin Gompa and on to Base Camp you will experience magnificent scenery of the lush Langtang River valley up into the broad glacial valley with staggering mountain views. The summit of Naya Kanga Peak offers an astonishing panorama of the breathtakingly surrounding peaks and beyond into remote valleys of Nepal and Tibet. Naya Kanga Peak climbing can be attempted by all comers, even people without mountaineering know-how and experience, and we will brief you on the use of equipment. Still, it will be demanding and should be attempted only by people fit and acclimatized to high elevation.
The Langtang Valley is entered by an enchanting weeklong hike from the lowlands. Our team assembles in Syabru Besi and together we ascend through the Langtang River valley on an unforgettable hike to the upper valley and then on to base camp. We climb through yak grazing areas and establish our Base Camp in an area with spectacular views at around 4,800 mt (15,748 ft). From here, when the timing is right we push for the summit in the early morning and marvel at the magnificent panorama as we enjoy our achievement with views of the Langtang Range, Ganesh Himal, Shishapangma, Dorje Lakpa, and more.
Along the Naya Kanga Peak Climbing journey, we include adequate rest days in the trek to ensure acclimatization. On these days, we take the chance to explore the beautiful surrounding area while we become accustomed to the altitude.
On the return, we have the option of traversing the Ganja La 5106 mt, 16,740 ft, an exciting mountain pass that accesses the serene Helambu Region with picturesque villages as we make our way to the road and vehicle service.
The Naya Kanga Peak Climbing timetable is planned by veteran climbers with special attention to season and safety. We always adhere to the highest safety standards and ensure that this trip is designed for comfort and well-being, especially by following a graded ascent with proper acclimatization.
